when a red dwarf user clicks the like button, they are "gone" after a page reload. this is a visual issue, not a network one. the like record is created in the users' PDS and is sent to recepients' notifications when using an app with an appview.

full like state tracking is hard because to be comprehensive, you need to fetch all of a users' given likes (which might be in the thousands). but a basic form of like state tracking (either a client-only memory of which posts was liked, or a limited backfill window for likes) is enough to get the UX to be good for 80% of cases
