You can run [[IPFS Desktop]] to self host [[IPFS]] easily. But, running that behind a router on a non-public IP address, you’re not easily connected to the rest of the network. 

You can install [[Kubo]] manually on a hosted cloud server somewhere, but this is a fairly advanced process of also configuring caching, API access, and other settings.
