Username rendering issue #146

My username is rendered two times, in a weird overlapping way. I've only seen this with my name, not any other. It is rendered normal in the repo overview and the account page. every other place i have seen looks like this: top right drop down, in issues i've opened, on commits. When reloading or loading a page with such an issue the second username appears later (once the page is fully loaded, i guess). https://ibb.co/TxWFKXvZ https://ibb.co/1tGL3cRs

I use Firefox version 141. I haven't seen this with another browser yet, so maybe it is a firefox issue. But I've also haven't seen it on another website, so...

yup this is firefox specific. when the profile image fails to load, it renders the image title in place, which causes the doubly overlapping text. on chromium, i see the the "failed to load" icon inside a circle. we should handle this better, by defaulting to a placeholder image.

So my profile image fails to load on every single page load? I don't have an image set, so maybe that leads to issues?

yeah the lack of image its the problem here, we are working to update our image CDN to return a default placeholder image for users without profile pictures.

I believe it is fixed. Or is it just by accident? I now see a nice purple as my profile image and the double rendering is gone.

yup this is the fix, we are using colors as place holder images for users without profile pictures.
