okay thats loaded. it means several things:
- use material icons (symbols and mdi)
- use material you colors
- redesign components to follow material design ideas
- redesign components to be animated (ie, material ripples, or material expressive)
idk if ill move off tailwind, it seems to be useful, but i think we can alternatively incrementally move more and more reusable styles into css and then at some point remove tailwind entirely.
another thing to ask is do we even want this? the answer is yes because the current design is terrible. i do need a design system, and using an existing one seems nice. although, i think we shouldnt be too strict about following the material design standards.
smaller goals:
- header
- post controls
- profile header
- sidebar
- mobile bottom bar
- context menus (doesnt exist yet)
consider using an animation library like framer motion? or maybe we should prefer making it in pure css first if it is possible to reduce bloat
