···+[We need more tiny knowledge projects](https://observablehq.com/@jsomers/we-need-more-tiny-knowledge-projects-heres-one)+> “I used to think of “knowledge projects” as involving a big mission, a big community, and a complex piece of software: the stuff of Wikipedia, Stack Overflow, or Genius (where I worked for several years). But the web is just as good for collaborations in the small.”

···+This article [“The Negative Impact of Mobile-First Web Design on Desktop”](https://www.nngroup.com/articles/content-dispersion/) feels like the reverse of what we would have seen 10 years ago, complaining about designs that don’t work on mobile.+The article states that 55% of web traffic comes from mobile. I bet if we measured “human time spent reading content” that mobile would be even higher.+This fits into my [[death of the professional desktop operating system]] theme. I think we should consider desktop design to be a luxury, for art and experiences.

···+[[Steven Sinofsky]] writes about Apple and the DMA in [“Building Under Regulation”](https://hardcoresoftware.learningbyshipping.com/p/215-building-under-regulation):+> As I read the over 60 pages of the DMA when it was passed…my heart sank over the complexity of a regulation so poorly constructed yet so clearly aimed at specific (American) companies and products.+It’s a long post and Sinofsky has a lot of relevant personal experience here. I’ll likely clip the article and look for some more quotes and take aways.

···+Every stage of investment and industry has different norms, but there are a lot of standard expectations and basics.+I’ll focus on sharing resources around early stage fundraising for your pre-seed or seed rounds, for what you think is a [[Venture Sized Business]].+You can (and will) have 10s of appendix / backup / alternate slides. The meat of your base pitch will only be 10 slides.+When actually sending a deck, send it as a PDF attachment. This works on mobile, it works offline, it can easily be forwarded, and it’s non editable.+There are things like Docsend and various other “send this as a link and email gate it”. This is likely more appropriate for customer sales engagement or other purposes.+[LinkedIn post by Stephen Carroll](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/stevecarroll76_the-best-advice-i-ever-got-about-building-activity-7157053966973878272-VMED)+> “Make the title of the slide the thing you want the investor/customer to take away from reading that slide.”+> Frames the thinking around how qualified your team is… Before they were just getting a general introduction to your team.
